Corrosion Protection for Outdoor Equipment

Protection for HVAC, Refrigeration and Heat Pump Systems. Outdoor equipment operating near coastal areas or in harsh environments is frequently exposed to salt air, moisture and airborne contaminants that accelerate corrosion.

To assist in protecting equipment operating in these conditions, Airdynamix offers in-house corrosion protection treatments for outdoor air-conditioning, refrigeration and heat pump systems.

Condenser Coil Protection

A clear protective lacquer is applied to outdoor condenser coils to help reduce corrosion on aluminium fins and maintain heat transfer efficiency.

Metal Panel Protection

Accessible outdoor metal panels are treated with Tectyl heavy-duty corrosion protection, helping protect surfaces from moisture, salt air and environmental contamination. Action HVAC cleaner may also be used to assist with cleaning and preparation prior to treatment.

PCB and Electrical Component Protection

A protective coating may be applied to printed circuit boards and switchgear to help reduce corrosion and minimise environmentally related failures caused by insects, geckos, frogs and rodents.

Rodent Deterrent Measures

Where practical, stainless steel wool may be installed into cabinet openings and pipe entry points to discourage rodents from entering equipment enclosures.

Maintenance Recommendations

Periodic rinsing of outdoor condenser coils with fresh water is recommended to remove salt deposits and environmental contamination. Reapplication of corrosion treatments may also be recommended during scheduled maintenance.

For larger commercial systems, professional coating systems such as Blygold corrosion protection systems may also be considered where appropriate.
